William Leonard Roberts III (born January 28, 1976) is a leading American rapper, songwriter, and music executive. The music superstar is known professionally as Rick Ross.
He released his debut single, Hustlin, in 2006. The song was followed by his debut album, Port of Miami, released under Def Jam Records.
Port Of Miami sold 187,000 units in its first week and debuted at number one on Billboard 200.
In 2009, Rick Ross founded Maybach Music Group‘s record label and released eight studio albums under the music imprint.

Early Life
Rick Ross is an African-American who was born to the family of Mr. William Roberts and Mrs. Tommie Roberts. He was birthed on the 28th of January 1966. He has a sister named Tawanda Roberts.
His parents named him William Leonard Roberts III. He was born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi. As a teenager, he was deeply interested in rap music and football. He often spent his free hours working on freestyle rap songs.

His debut studio album, Port of Miami, was released under Def Jam Recordings in August 2006. As soon as it was dropped, the project debuted at number one on Billboard 200, and it sold 187,000 units in its first week. Port of Miami was certified Gold by RIAA in November 2006.
Rick Ross released his sophomore studio album, Trilla, to critical acclaim in March 2008. The album debuted at number one on US Billboard 200. The project is home to commercially successful songs like Speedin, The Boss, Here I Am, and This Is The Life. MTV News ranked him as one of its Hottest MCs in 2008.
From 2009 to 2021, Rick Ross has released nine more solo studio albums. They are Deeper Than Rap (2009), Teflon Don (2010), God Forgives, I Don’t (2012), Mastermind (2014), Hood Billionaire (2014), Black Market (2015), Rather You Than Me (2017), Port of Miami 2 (2019) and Richer Than I Have Ever Been (2021). He worked on the collaborative album Custom Cars & Cycles with Triple C’s. The project was released in 2009.

Rick Ross suffered a heart attack on the 2nd of March 2018 and was hospitalized. He had been found unconscious and unresponsive at his Miami home.
