Emerging pop artist Muunie (whose name is pronounced like ‘mony’ in the word “harmony”) has released her debut EP “Ele.mental“. Not only is this an excellent audible exploration of her work, but each track on the EP represents one of the elements – including previously released singles Fire, Water, Earth, and now the fourth chapter, Air – and visually the EP as a whole paints an emotionally captivating narrative arc through the music for each track, telling the story of how Muunie lost her way before learning to believe in herself again.
This is a multifaceted release that was partly inspired by Muunie’s own work as a professional life coach, wanting to use her passion for music and storytelling to help people with the kinds of mental health struggles and cycles of self-doubt that she herself went through with as someone who spent much of her life struggling with suicidal depression.
The music itself is not downbeat, to say the least, rather Muunie’s work aims to guide listeners through a passionate mix of pop and R&B styles that showcase her powerful catharsis of feel-good intentions.
“I wanted to create a unique sonic and emotional palette for each song that captured the essence of the element and weave them together into a cohesive, continuous circle, like nature itself,” Muunie reveals about her debut release. “The elements are also metaphors for human emotion and the “seasons” we pass through. Fire is fall, change, transformation, and spark. Water is winter, death, sadness, grief, and letting go. Earth is spring, renewal, rebirth, and growth. And Air is summer, freedom, sweetness, blossoming.”

Ele.mental traces Munnie’s own growth as an individual and an artist – personally and professionally. It’s a narrative of personal transformation that is so close to her heart. “It tells the story of a toxic relationship ending, being left to grieve, discovering the power in vulnerability and communion with self, and realizing that another person can’t complete you and the key to freedom and joy is finding it within yourself,” Munnie continues. “Although the story arc centres on a romantic relationship, I wrote it with all types of relationships in mind. It could apply to a parent, a friend, a substance, a behaviour, anything.”
